In Feudal Japan, fraternal half-demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire at the age of four. While desperately searching for her twin, Towa is sucked into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into the modern era, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi's younger brother, Sōta, and his family.  One decade later, the Sacred Tree of Ages' time-traveling portal that connects the two five-century timelines reopens, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a hardhearted warrior and demon slayer working under the adult Kohaku. But to Towa's shock, Setsuna had lost all memories of their strong and close sisterly love and girlhood in the forest.  Joined by their first cousin Moroha, the only quarter-demon child of Inuyasha and Kagome Higurashi, the three travel between the two five century-long eras on an epic adventure to regain their missing past.
